Conducted by the Instituto Escolhas, the study addresses the extraction of gold and diamonds based on health, education and GDP per capita indicators in municipalities of the Legal Amazon. The document shows that these activities do not bring medium and long-term benefits to local development. In the case of GDP per capita, for example, five years would be the maximum duration of its impacts on municipalities in the Legal Amazon.
